What to expect in onboarding
Standard onboarding runs four weeks. The goal is for your team to be self-sufficient by the end of it — no ongoing dependency on live training for routine platform use.
The four weeks
| Week | Focus | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Training | Platform walkthrough, core features, how to interpret scores — tailored to your use cases |
| 2 | Configuration | Location upload, tagging setup, user access |
| 3 | Goal alignment | Mapping platform use to your specific workflows; confirming success criteria |
| 4 | Best practices | Power-user patterns, reporting workflows, Q&A |
What we need from you
For platform access: name and email for each user. That is genuinely the whole list.
Standard access does not require confidential client data, internal incident records, or sensitive business information. If your organization opts into BaseFusion, that involves a separate data-sharing agreement specific to internal incident feeds.
For location setup: your site list, with addresses or coordinates. A spreadsheet is fine. See Adding a location for the bulk upload format.
Useful but optional: how you would like locations grouped (region, business unit, tier), so tags can be set up to match how your team actually thinks about the portfolio.
What to think about before kickoff
Onboarding goes faster when you have rough answers to these:
- Who needs access, and what does each person do with it? Analysts, EP teams, and executives use the platform very differently.
- What decisions should this data inform? Site selection, travel approval, resource allocation, reporting to leadership.
- What does success look like in six months? This becomes the basis of the success criteria confirmed in week 3.
- Is there an existing workflow this needs to fit into? A GIS environment, a BI tool, a reporting cadence.
Your team
You will have a Customer Success Manager as your main point of contact for strategic questions, custom analysis, and anything about how you are using the platform.
For technical issues, data questions, and access problems, support is the faster path.
After onboarding
Most accounts settle into a monthly check-in cadence. That call is where usage, new locations, feature questions, and anything that has come up get worked through.
Between calls, this site should answer most questions. If it does not, that is useful to know — tell your CSM what you were looking for and could not find.
